Carne Asada Nachos

  • Cookie or Baking Sheet
  • Medium Skillet (8 inches)

Ingredients  

Instructions 

  • Slice pre-cooked carne asada across the grain into bite-sized pieces.
  • Heat olive oil in a heavy skillet over medium heat until hot.
  • Add steak pieces and cook 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until heated through and slightly crisped.
  • Season with salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Arrange half of the tortilla chips in a single layer on a sheet pan, slightly overlapping but not stacked.
  • Top with half the shredded cheese, carne asada, and additional toppings you may want.
  • Repeat layers with remaining chips, cheese, carne asada, and toppings.
  • Bake for 5-7 minutes until cheese is fully melted and bubbly.
  • Remove from oven and immediately top with jalapeños and cilantro.
  • Serve with pico de gallo, guacamole/avocado, sour cream, and lime wedges.
  • Serve immediately while cheese is hot and chips are crispy.
